Avoiding Holiday Overstimulation

With all the hustle and bustle, it’s easy for kids to feel overwhelmed. Overstimulation during the holidays can lead to meltdowns and stress for little ones. To help, we’ve outlined practical strategies in our latest blog: Dealing with Overstimulation. Highlights include:

  • Stick to a Routine: As much as possible, maintain regular meal and sleep times.

  • Create a Quiet Space: Designate a calming spot for your child to retreat to when needed.

  • Know Their Limits: Pay attention to signs of overwhelmed behavior and take breaks as necessary.

  • Prepare for Events: Talk to your child about what to expect at gatherings to reduce anxiety.
